Get Involved

Whether you live in Philadelphia, on the West Coast, overseas, or somewhere in between, it's easy - and fun - to stay connected to the Ford. Opportunities are available to volunteer for local events and outings, provide career support for students and alumni, nominate your peers for an Alumni Award, support the College financially, interact with fellow Fords on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn! Discover all the ways you can remain engaged with Haverford.

Nearly 1,000 alumni help Haverford recruit prospective students, serve as liaisons between the College and their classmates, organize regional Haverford events around the globe, and mentor students and graduates on everything from careers to advanced degrees.

Alumni Association Executive Committee

As a Haverford alumnus/a, you are a member of Haverford's Alumni Association. No membership dues required. The Alumni Association Executive Committee (AAEC) acts as the executive arm of the Association providing leadership and direction regarding alumni affairs. The AAEC consists of a president, vice president, regional and affinity group liaisons, and liaisons to various College departments.

Annual Fund Leadership Committee

The Annual Fund Leadership Committee (AFLC) consists of a select group of annual giving advocates. As the College’s primary ambassadors for the Annual Fund, members of the AFLC work to strengthen philanthropic relationships between Haverford and its alumni and, in collaboration with the Haverford College staff, are responsible for increasing alumni giving to the Annual Fund.

Center for Career and Professional Advising Volunteers

CCPA Volunteers create important links between Haverford's alumni community and current students seeking career advice and opportunities. As a volunteer, you can:

  • Join Haverford's official LinkedIn Career Connections Group
  • Sponsor an extern or intern
  • Offer informational interviews to current students, or request one with a fellow alum
  • Share career-related advice through the CCPA blog
  • Recruit for or find job and internship opportunities via CareerConnect
If you wish to volunteer with the CCPA, please share your areas of interest with us here.

Class Correspondents

Class correspondents help us keep the Class News section of Haverford magazine robust and relevant by soliciting updates from their classmates three times a year. Class Correspondents are a critical link in maintaining the strong sense of community that exists among Haverford alumni and in establishing links with classmates who have lost contact with the College.

As a class correspondent, you will be asked to:
  • Gather news from your classmates and report it accurately.
  • Write three updates per year, gathering the news you’ve solicited.
  • File your updates in a timely fashion.
  • Attempt to make contact with, and solicit news from, every member of your class who appears on the list provided by the College.

Each year, volunteers are active in cities including but not limited to Boston, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia and San Francisco. If you're not in one of these cities, we welcome volunteers to plan events in their local areas, and Alumni and Parent Relations will be happy to help get you started.

Young Alumni Advisory Group

The Young Alumni Advisory Group (YAAG) supports the Alumni Relations and Annual Giving (ARAG) team and the Young Alumni Liaison to the Alumni Association Executive Committee (AAEC) in their efforts to create and sustain meaningful relationships with Haverford’s young alumni, defined as graduates of the last decade. In partnership with ARAG, the YAAG seeks to support recent graduates with programs, communications and opportunities that are uniquely tailored to strengthen the active involvement of young alumni in support of Haverford College and the Alumni Association. The Advisory Group will also support the efforts of building philanthropic relationships between young alumni and the College – specifically through the Annual Fund. Learn more.
