Each year, many of Haverford’s athletic teams travel across the country and internationally to compete against top-level academic and athletic programs. These team training trips enhance our student-athletes' experiences by providing opportunities to build team unity, strengthen group communication skills, and enjoy the healthy competition associated with intercollegiate athletics.
While the College is able to cover a portion of the travel costs, individual athletes and teams are expected to cover a significant portion. Many individuals and teams find the rising costs of travel to be a real challenge. It is difficult for the teams to find the time and energy to raise money, and it is even harder for many families to come up with the funds.
In addition to your unrestricted Annual Fund support for Haverford this year, please consider joining our efforts to ensure that the College is able to continue to provide the best in both academic and athletic opportunities. Haverford student-athletes are proof that students can excel at the varsity level, participate in extra-curricular activities, and do extremely well in one of the most demanding academic programs in the country.
