Student Mentoring

Fords in Finance partners with the Center for Career and Professional Advising (CCPA) to coordinate events throughout the academic year, such as:

  • "Careers in Finance" panel discussions on campus, during which students will hear about the paths of alumni with varied and successful careers, and seek advice for internships and job searches.
  • Small group dinners off-campus (nearby) for in-depth conversations and informal mentoring opportunities.
  • "Finance 101" where students visit the workplace of an alum to get a deeper look at Finance careers

If you are interested in participating in any of these opportunities, please contact any member of the Leadership Team listed above or the CCPA.

Past Events

On September 28th, Fords in Finance held a Student/Alumni Networking Dinner at Iron Hill Brewery in Ardmore. Hosted by Jon Sprogell '74, there were 7 alumni and 15 students in attendance. Students were engaging and talkative, and had done prior research on the alumni in the room, so came prepared with great questions. Attendees were encouraged to switch seats prior to dessert for additional exposure and conversation. Thank you to Jennifer Barr and the CCPA for helping to organize the evening. Alumni attendees included:

Sarah Brody '15, Analyst, J. P. Morgan Private Bank Asset Management
Andy Clarke '91, Senior Investment Analyst, The Vanguard Group, Inc.
Jason Hirsch '16, Analyst, Cloverlay
Matthew Jennings '99, Global and International Relationship Manager, De Lage Landen International
Grace Mangigian '16, Management Trainee, M&T Bank
Matt Potter, CFA '88, Director of Investment Services, SEI Investments, Inc.
Jon Sprogell '74, Senior Director, Vice President, BNY Mellon Bank
