Center for Career and Professional Advising Volunteer – Parents are a great resource to students for information on careers and assistance in their job searches. Parent volunteers are needed to host student(s) for externships ( half-day or full-day job shadowing experiences), identify or provide internships (paid or unpaid) and permanent job opportunities. Parents can also provide the College with valuable introductions to the human resources department of their company or employer. Interested parents can contact Amy Feifer, Assistant Dean and Director of Career Services or explore these opportunities:

City Hosting Volunteer - Most externships do not provide housing, which means students must find their own accommodations for up to a week, often in major metropolitan areas. Some students are unable to participate in externships because the cost of housing is prohibitive. City Hosts are parent volunteers in New York City and Washington DC who volunteer to host a Haverford student in their home for 3-5 days while the student participates in a CCPA externship. Host families are needed for winter and spring externships. Interested parents can contact Amy Feifer for more information or to volunteer.

Event Host – Parent Volunteers are needed to host local and regional events for current students and/or their parents. If you would like to consider hosting a College event in your home, club, or office space, please contact Peggy Kacergis.

Parent Fund Volunteers - Parents are invited to become a Parent Fund Volunteer where their commitment and enthusiasm helps enhance the experience for all students.Consider joining this dedicated group of parents who make calls to other parents to connect and raise funds for Haverford. For more information, or to volunteer, please contact Peggy Kacergis.

Holiday Opportunities for Multicultural Exchange (HOME)- Parents are invited to be HOME hosts. HOME is a holiday homestay/hosting program intended to promote cross-cultural exchange between international students and other members of the Haverford community. HOME seeks volunteers from the Haverford community to invite international students into their home for any length of time during the academic year breaks- Fall Break, Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, or Spring Break. Interested parents should complete the online application form.
