Annual Giving Steering Committee

The Annual Giving Steering Committee (AGSC) is responsible for leading comprehensive advocacy efforts, which strengthen the philanthropic relationships between Haverford and its alumni, parents, and friends through peer-to-peer outreach. The Annual Giving Chair oversees these efforts along with six vice chairs each dedicated to setting and achieving program-specific goals in partnership with a network of Giving Advocates.

Responsibilities

Giving: Annual Giving Steering Committee members are required to either have a multi-year pledge for leadership level annual support or to make a leadership level gift or pledge before December 31st every fiscal year to set an example for others.

Terms: Annual Giving Steering Committee members serve for a period of three years with the option to renew for an additional term, with the exception of the Parent Leadership Co-Chairs, which roles are are shared by two families serving two-year, overlapping terms.

The Annual Giving Chair oversees these efforts along with six vice chairs each dedicated to setting and achieving program-specific goals in partnership with a network of Giving Advocates.


The Annual Giving Chair oversees experienced advocates on the Annual Giving Steering Committee responsible for advising and leading comprehensive fundraising programs across the College that strengthen philanthropic relationships between Haverford and its alumni, parents, and friends. The Chair serves as the primary alumni liaison to the Office of Annual Giving and advises the External Affairs Committee of the Board of Managers on Annual Giving programs, metrics, trends, and recommendations.


The Leadership Giving Vice Chair provides overall leadership to the Leadership Giving Committee, and serves as a vital collaborator and counselor to the Office of Annual Giving.


The Reunion Giving Vice Chair advises and provides overall volunteer leadership for the Reunion Giving Program.


The Affinity Giving Vice Chair advises and creates sustainable giving strategies with all College-sponsored Affinity Groups.


The Class Giving Vice Chair advises and creates sustainable giving strategies for all non-reunion alumni classes.


The Young Alumni Giving Vice Chair advises and creates sustainable giving strategies for young alumni classes.


The Parent Leadership Co-Chairs oversee the philanthropic, advisory, and volunteer committee composed of current and former parents of Haverford students.
